Designing an infrared heater for a bathroom isn’t as simple as just picking a heating element and calling it a day. You’ve got a tricky balance to strike. You want that intense, cozy heat, but you can’t have it coming with a blinding glare—especially when you’re dealing with babies or kids who don’t know any better. For us, the secret is all in how we handle the light. The battle against the glare Ever looked at a standard short-wave IR lamp? It’s harsh. It’s blinding. It’s the kind of light that makes you squint and puts a lot of stress on your eyes. Nobody wants that in their bathroom. To fix this, we use special coatings and filtered quartz glass. Think of it like a pair of sunglasses for the heater. The filter blocks out the annoying visible light but lets the warmth slide right through. You get all the heat, but the light stays soft. No eye strain, no squinting. Just warmth. Dealing with the steam Bathrooms are basically torture chambers for electronics. Between the steam and the splashes, things get corroded fast. That’s why we stick to IP44 standards. In plain English? It means the housing is sealed tight against splashes from any direction and keeps out any stray bits of debris. We don’t cut corners on the connection points, and we use alloys for the reflectors that won’t rust the moment things get humid. If you don’t seal these parts perfectly, moisture creeps into the sockets. Then you’ve got short circuits or filaments burning out way before they should. The heat trade-off Here’s the thing: these lamps are incredibly efficient and heat up instantly, but they create a very concentrated “hot zone.” Even though the light is soft on your eyes, the lamp itself gets scorching hot. This is where placement matters. You need enough breathing room for the air to move, otherwise, the housing overheats and the safety switch will just kill the power. We suggest mounting them at least 2.1 meters off the floor. It’s the sweet spot where you feel the warmth, but everyone stays safe.
