They’re built to handle the humidity and the occasional splash without throwing a tantrum and shorting out. The moisture problem Here is the thing: when steam settles on a cheap socket, it creates a path for electricity to leak. That’s usually why those fixtures “pop” and die. To fix this, we use housings with a high IP rating. In plain English? They’re airtight. The electrical guts are totally isolated from the damp air, so you aren’t replacing the unit every two years because of a bit of condensation. Instant warmth, no waiting Most heaters try to warm up the air in the room. But air is stubborn; it takes forever to heat up, and the second you open the door, all that warmth escapes. Infrared is different. It doesn’t care about the air. It sends out shortwave radiation that hits your skin and the walls directly. You feel it the second you flip the switch. We use quartz glass tubes for this because they’re tough. They can go from freezing to 500°C in a heartbeat without cracking. A few things to keep in mind You can’t just swap these in like a lightbulb. You’ll need a dedicated circuit. Because these units pack a punch to get you warm quickly, they pull more power. If your wiring is too thin, you’re just going to keep tripping your breakers. It’s worth having a pro check your gauge before you install them. And yeah, they’re a bit bulkier. You won’t get that super-slim, flush-mount look. You lose an inch or two of ceiling space, but in exchange, you get a system that actually lasts. It’s a fair trade. I’d rather have a slightly larger fixture than a “slim” one that corrodes and dies in twenty-four months.
