The honest trade-off
Now, nothing is perfect. Because these are modules and not thin films, they take up a bit more room. You lose a few millimeters of space behind the mirror to make room for the housing and the connectors. But in my opinion? That’s a fair trade. I’d much rather lose a tiny bit of space than have to replace a massive sheet of glass just because of a faulty wire.

Here is the truth: no heating element lasts forever. We build these to last, but eventually, they’ll wear out. By treating the heater as a part you can replace—like a lightbulb—you save yourself from the chaos of a full mirror replacement. Just pull the module, plug in a new one, and you’re back in business.
